Several months ago I posted an image of Porlock Weir the monochrome version of that photograph was a runner up in Nikon inframe magazine in December 2011. The set theme for that months competition was ‘black and white’

Valencia and Costa Blanca 2012

A short break to Spain was an ideal opportunity to see several sides to the country from magnificent city of Valencia to towns on the Costa Blanca.

On our stay we only scratched the surface of Valencia, the impressive mixture of modern architecture of ‘The City of Arts and Sciences’ (Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias) built in a river bed to the historic buildings in the old town. The next planned visit hopefully more of the historic old city will be taken in.

Next off on the whistle stop tour a few days were spent on the Costa Blanca soaking up the suns rays.

This photograph was taken in the same location to that of my previous post but several weeks later. Our dogs are often walked through Bishopswood near Sonning Common, the result of always having my camera on me is that I now have hundreds of photos of this woodland.

It’s been a bit slow around here for a while, so I took my camera with me to get some photographs during a walk on cold fresh January morning.

A photograph doesn’t really capture the ethereal magic of Bruce Munro’s famous Field of Light. 1000s of tiny fibre optic lights spread out from the Holburne Museum’s new extension, their reflections twinkling in the glass, and out into the back garden. In the grounds they form pools of light which shimmer and change colour to provide a spectacle of sheer magic.

Philadelphia – Pennsylvania

A visit to Philadelphia concluded a short trip to the US , which had previously taken me to New York City and Princeton. Snow storms the day before had caused me to postpone the trip for 24hrs, patience was luckily rewarded with beautiful weather.
